Cabot nears completion of work on A400M Wingtip for MSN6 and MSN7

Cabot Design nears completion of the main static and F&DT work required for certification of the MSN6 Defence Aids Sub System (DASS) and MSN7 Common Standard Aircraft (CSA) wingtip structure.

The completion of this project will mark the end of main certification work for the A400M entry into service.

Cabot starts work on A340 Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE)

Cabot Design has been awarded a part in development of the the Airbus A340 Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE) wing structure.

This research test aircraft hopes to test laminar flow technology and use more composite materials in its construction.
>
This will involve replacement of the wing structure outboard of engines 1 and 4.

The work that Cabot is involved with on the A350XWB rib sizing is progressing with a Critical Design Review (CDR) that was held in December and the final CDR for C scheme design in March.

Cabot Test Lab Prepares for First Use
Construction of the Cabot Design test lab has recently finished and in the process of being fitted out in preparation for use. The tests will be carried out to research aircraft structural issues with bolt pre-loading and material properties.
