Cabot Design have specialised in the development of specific applications using Visual Basic/Excel, Patran command language and Mathcad to automate analyses.

Cabot Design is solely responsible for developing the Airbus validated RAMSAS (Rib Analysis Methods for Sizing And Stressing), which was designed to integrate and automate classical Airbus hand calculation analyses for generic rib structures. Cabot also extensively uses the Airbus stress tool ISAMI, for static and fatigue analysis.

Automated analysis applications developed by Cabot Design have become recognised as standard in the aerospace industry.

Our capabilities are currently expanding to include development of Mathcad dynamic link libraries, Excel COM add-ins for increased performance, code security and stand-alone executables.

October 2011 : Cabot nears completion of work on A400M Wingtip for MSN6 and MSN7

> Cabot Design nears completion of the main static and F&DT work required for certification of the MSN6 Defence Aids Sub System (DASS) and MSN7 Common Standard Aircraft (CSA) wingtip structure.

> The completion of this project will mark the end of main certification work for the A400M entry into service.

October 2011 : Cabot starts work on A340 Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE)

> Cabot Design has been awarded a part in development of the the Airbus A340 Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE) wing structure.

> This research test aircraft hopes to test laminar flow technology and use more composite materials in its construction.

> This will involve replacement of the wing structure outboard of engines 1 and 4.

February 2011 : Cabot Design Assigned to A340 NLF Transition Structure B Scheme

Cabot Design has been assigned to support the Transition Structural Analysis through to B Scheme for the A340 Natural Laminar Flow (NLF) Flying Test Aircraft.
